Lemhi County Humane Society owns & operates the Salmon Animal Shelter and Rags & Wags Thrift Store.
SAS provides high-quality sheltering services for the homeless pets of Lemhi County.
We also provide funds for public spay and neuter programs in an attempt to decrease the number of dogs and cats entering our shelter. We serve as a line of defense against animal abuse & neglect, working closely with law enforcement officials, to ensure that all animals in Lemhi County are treated in a kind and humane manner.
Animal Shelter Hours:
10:00am – 6:00pm
7 Days a Week
Rags & Wags Thrift Store Hours:
8:00am – 4:00pm M-F
10:00 – 2:00pm on Saturday
We just wanted to drop in and say our kittens are all happy, healthy, and gaining weight! These cuties are not quite ready for adoption but we will do another weight check in a week to see how close they are! These kittens are almost 6 weeks old and still enjoying time with their mom! Meet our Bachelorette, Ember, a sweet and shy lady who was surrendered to us because her owner moved to another state and couldn't take her along. She has excellent manners and is an expert at loafing. Ember prefers to be an only pet or have other cat friends. We are excited to get to know her better as she adjusts to the community cat room. I had the pleasure of meeting Gizmo today and I must say what a sweetheart. She was out doing chores right there beside her foster mom…. Gizmo is living her best life ever and it shows (through the horse Pooh and all!) And a big shout out to her foster mom for being awesome & doing what you do👏
